Refund Policy

1. Application

(a) This document sets out the terms and conditions that apply to any refunds that may be made by Rugby League World Cup 2017 Limited (RLWC, us, our) for tickets purchased to matches of the Rugby League World Cup 2017 (Tournament) (Refund Policy). 

(b) This Refund Policy is the Refund Policy referred to in the RLWC Event Conditions. RLWC may amend this Refund Policy from time to time and the latest version of this Refund Policy is available on our website www.rlwc2017.com. 

(c) Refunds will only be made in accordance with, and subject to, the terms and conditions of the latest version of this Refund Policy. 

(d) Only a person who bought a ticket directly from RLWC or our official ticketing agent (you) will be eligible for a refund from RLWC or the ticketing agent. A person who purchased a ticket from any other source (e.g. hospitality providers, travel agents or other ticket sales partners or resellers) should contact that point of purchase (who may be eligible for a refund under the terms of this Refund Policy) to seek a refund from them. No refunds will be issued to any persons who received a ticket free of charge. 

2. Eligibility for a Refund

(a) You will only be eligible for a refund of the ticket price, industry imposed ticket charges and credit card fees where: 

(i) the Tournament is cancelled; 
(ii) a match is cancelled before the match has started; 
(iii) there is a change to the venue for a match before the match has started; 
(iv) there is a material change to the date or time of a match before the match has started, subject to your election under clause 3(b) of this Refund Policy; 
(v) a match has started but is abandoned before the end of the first half and no result is declared, subject to your election under clause 4(b)(ii) of this Refund Policy; or 
(vi) you are otherwise entitled to a refund under applicable law. 

(b) Unless otherwise determined by RLWC, you will not be eligible for a refund or any other compensation in any other circumstances including where: 

(i) the result of a match has been declared (including where a match is abandoned after the match has started, but a result has been declared); 
(ii) a match has started, but is abandoned after the end of the first half (whether or not a result has been declared); 
(iii) your entry to a venue is delayed for any reason; 
(iv) you or a ticket holder for whom you bought a ticket is refused entry or evicted from a venue for a breach of the venue terms of admission; 
(v) your ticket has been used, sold or transferred in breach of the ticket conditions available at www.rlwc2017.com; 
(vi) any change to ticket prices are made by RLWC after you have purchased your ticket; 
(vii) your ticket has been lost, stolen, defaced or is otherwise unused or unusable; 
(viii) the details of a person seeking a refund do not match the details of the original purchaser; or 
(ix) the request for a refund is made more than 30 days after the scheduled date of the match. 

3. Changes to date, time or venue of a match

(a) Neither RLWC nor Ticketek guarantee that a match will take place or be completed at the date, time or venue stated on a ticket or that you or a ticket holder will be allocated the seat described on a ticket. RLWC may, in its discretion and with reasonable notice where practicable, change the scheduled time, date or venue of a match or change the seat allocated to a ticket holder. 

(b) Where, prior to the start of a match, a match is rescheduled to another venue you may apply for a refund in accordance with clause 5.1 of this Refund Policy. 

(c) Where, prior to the start of a match, there is a material change to the date or time of a match stated on a ticket, you may either: (i) use that ticket to attend the rescheduled match at that venue; or 
(ii) apply for a refund in accordance with clause 5.2 of this Refund Policy. 

4. Abandoned Matches

(a) Where a match has started, but is abandoned and a result is declared, you will not be eligible for a refund. 

(b) Where a match has started, but is abandoned before the end of the first half and the completion of that match is scheduled for a different time or day (and a result is not declared), you may either: 

(i) use the original ticket to attend the rescheduled match, if that match is open to spectators at the same venue; or 
(ii) apply for a refund in accordance with clause 5.2 of this Refund Policy. 

(c) Where a match has started, but is abandoned after the end of the first half and the completion of that match is scheduled for a different time or day (and a result is not declared), you may use the original ticket to attend the rescheduled match, if that match is open to spectators at the same venue, but you will not be eligible for a refund. 

5. Refund Process

5.1 Where you are eligible for a refund under clauses 2(a)(i)(ii) or (iii) above (Tournament or match cancellation, venue change), the following applies: 

(a) If you bought your ticket from Ticketek or RLWC by credit card, the amount of your refund will be automatically paid to that card within 10 working days after the scheduled date of the match. 

(b) If you bought your ticket from Ticketek or RLWC by any other method (including debit card, cash or electronic funds transfer) you may apply for a refund within 30 days after the scheduled date of the match by: 

(i) if the ticket was purchased in Australia, by attending one of the Ticketek Head Office Agencies listed in clause 6 with the original ticket and proof of purchase documents, in which case you will be paid the amount of the refund via your original purchase method (debit card, cash or electronic funds transfer) within 10 working days of Ticketek verifying your eligibility for a refund; 
(ii) if the ticket was purchased in New Zealand, by returning to the agency of the point of your purchase with the original ticket and proof of purchase documents, in which case you will be paid the amount of the refund via your original purchase method (debit card, cash or electronic funds transfer) within 10 working days of Ticketek verifying your eligibility for a refund; or 
(iii) posting your tickets back to Ticketek to an address outlined in the refund communication. You will then be sent a cheque for the amount of your refund within 14 working days of Ticketek verifying your eligibility for a refund. 

(c) If you bought your ticket via any other method or source (including hospitality providers, travel agents or other ticket sales partners or resellers) you must contact that point of purchase with the original ticket and proof of purchase information within 30 days after the scheduled match and they will be responsible for arranging any refund for you. 

5.2 Where you are eligible for a refund under clauses 2(a)(iv),(v) or (vi) above, (Other entitlement) the following applies: 

(a) If you bought your ticket from Ticketek or RLWC by credit card you may apply for a refund within 30 days after the scheduled date of the match by attending one of the Ticketek Head Office Agencies listed in clause 6, or by posting your tickets back to a designated address to be communicated if refunds are eligible, You will then be paid the amount of your refund to the original credit card within 10 working days of Ticketek verifying your eligibility for a refund. 

(b) If you bought your ticket from Ticketek or RLWC by any other method (including debit card, cash or electronic funds transfer) you may apply for a refund within 30 days after the scheduled date of the match by: 

(i) attending one of the Ticketek Head Office Agencies listed in clause 6 with the original ticket and proof of purchase documents. You will then be paid the amount of your refund via the original purchase method (debit card, cash or electronic funds transfer) within 10 working days of Ticketek verifying your eligibility for a refund; or 
(ii) posting your tickets back to Ticketek to an address outlined in the refund communication. You will then be sent a cheque for the amount of your refund within 14 working days of Ticketek verifying your eligibility for a refund. 

(c) If you bought your ticket via any other method or source (eg hospitality providers, travel agents or other ticket sales partners or resellers) you must contact that point of purchase with the original ticket and proof of purchase information within 30 days after the scheduled match and they will be responsible for arranging any refund for you.

7. Sole Remedy

Except as set out in this Refund Policy or to the extent required by law, neither RLWC nor Ticketek will be liable to you or any other person for any costs, expenses or other losses (including any conversion charges, interest, third party charges or any associated costs including travel or accommodation costs or any indirect or consequential loss) incurred in connection with any cancellation, change to the date, time or venue of a match or abandonment for any reason, or the issue of the refund.
