It covers the Men’s and Women’s RLWC2017 tournaments, which will be played concurrently for the first time. As an Official Partner, Youi will receive brand integration through the referees’ on-field apparel at all 40 matches in the Men’s and Women’s tournaments, which are played in 13 cities across Australia, New Zealand and PNG.
RLWC2017 General Manager Commercial and Marketing, Rohan Sawyer, said: “Youi has a relationship with the game’s match officials and it is pleasing that they have extended that partnership to the Rugby League World Cup.
The tournament’s trans-Tasman footprint was a key reason for Youi partnering with RLWC2017 and the insurance company will promote the partnership through its own channels in Australia and New Zealand.
Youi CEO Frank Costigan said: “The partnership with the RLWC2017 is a natural extension of our existing sponsorship of the NRL referees and match officials. “It was an important decision as Youi is already a well-recognised supporter of the game, having worked in collaboration with the NRL in 2017 to bring more Rugby League content and opportunities to the fans. “We are enormously proud to support Rugby League and further our support into the exciting spectacle of the RLWC2017 matches where we will see the world’s best play it out.”
RLWC2017 is expected to draw an event record of 450,000 supporters at games in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea between 27 October and 2 December, 2017. It will be the biggest event in the region this year, with 14 nations contesting the men’s tournament and six vying for the new women’s Rugby League World Cup trophy.
All pool games and the semi-finals of the women’s tournament will be played at Southern Cross Group Stadium in Cronulla, with the final to be held as a double-header with the men’s decider in Brisbane.
RLWC2017 has secured Fi-Ta as Official Apparel Partner, providing all of the apparel for match officials, as well as organising committee workforce uniforms and football operations requirements.
